Today, students at Oasis Academy Mayfield are celebrating as GCSE and vocational results are published.

This year has seen the academy’s best ever English and Maths results, and we are incredibly proud of the 12% increase in students gaining passes in both subjects.

Particularly impressive results were attained by individual students including:

Jono Clark who achieved grade 9s in Maths and Further Maths with grade 8s in English Literature, Language, Chemistry, French, Geography and Physics. He also attained a grade 7 in Biology. We are delighted that Jono is taking up a place at Barton Peveril College to study A Levels in Biology, Maths and Computer Science!

Ashleigh Milligan who achieved grade 9s in RE and English Literature, 8s in English Language, History and French, 7s in Maths and Science and a Distinction* in Health and Social Care. Ashleigh is off to study A Levels in Law, Sociology and Psychology at Barton Peveril College as it is her ambition to become a Lawyer in the future.

Georgia Monteith who was successful in gaining 2 BTEC qualifications and 7 GCSES including a grade 9 in English said, "A huge thank you to the school, I could not have achieved this without the help and support of all of the staff at Mayfield.”

Claire Taylor, Principal at Oasis Academy Mayfield said;

"Our students have achieved some fantastic results this summer. I am so proud of them and the determination they have shown in their studies. Their hard work has led to a significant increase in the number of students gaining both English and Maths GCSEs which in turn will unlock more choice and provide a firm foundation for their future education.  I very much look forward to hearing about their future success' as they move into their next stages of education.

All staff here at Mayfield are so pleased for the students, and I must also extend thanks to them for the dedication and commitment they have shown to supporting our team Mayfield and enabling this success.”
