Phone Free School (Yondr)
Oasis Academy Mayfield is committed to creating a calm, safe, and focused learning environment. Mobile phones can be a significant distraction to learning and may pose safeguarding, behaviour, and wellbeing risks. In line with Department for Education (DfE) guidance, the school operates as a mobile‑phone‑free environment throughout the school day. [gov.uk]
To encourage students to take responsibility of their phone usage and to still be accessible on the way and from school all students are assigned a personal Yondr Pouch. While the Yondr Pouch is considered school property, it is each student’s responsibility to bring their pouch with them to school every day and keep it in good working condition. If a student damages or loses their pouch, there is a £15 replacement fee.
