Inter Academy Sports Event

June 26th dawned bright and sunny and with it came teams of students from Millbrook Community School, Oaklands Community School, Grove Park School and Woolston School Language College to compete in a fun sports event at the Southampton Sports Centre.

150 students turned up and took part in a range of activities in mixed teams of 12. The aim behind the event was to give students a sense of being part of their future Academy and to meet each other before the new term starts in September.

 

Once the Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill and Mayfield tee shirts were on the chanting for the respective Academies could be heard far away!

 

The Mayor of Southampton – Cllr Brian Parnell kicked the event off and we were joined in the afternoon by Clive Webster – the Director of Children’s Services and learning seen in the picture with some of the students taking part.
