Frequently Asked Questions

  • The List of Local FAQ’s is currently being created – watch this space!

  • What do we need to wear for sports? Do we need to wear shorts for P.E.? Can we wear something just black?

Students can wear black shorts or black tracksuit bottoms, but they must be predominantly black. Students must also wear a white t-shirt or polo shirt. As long as it is white (NOT a white football shirt) then it is permissible NOT to wear the Oasis white polo shirt. Trainers MUST be worn for every lesson. Students may also wear their OASIS rugby top if they wish.

  • Your website mentions facilities such as a fitness suite that will be available for community use - are these facilities currently available for the community to use, and if so, where can I find more information on them?

The fitness suite is not available for community use at present but will be available when the new academy opens in September 2010.

  • Can anyone join the Academy and is there a catchment area?

All places at the Academy are free and available to the local community within an admissions policy which mirrors the admissions arrangements for community schools in NE Lincs. Students will be accepted irrespective of ability or faith. Full details about admission to the Academy can be found under the Admissions section of the website.
  • Why is the school called Oasis?

Oasis Academy Immingham, like all the other Oasis Academies, is sponsored by Oasis Community Learning which is a separate charity, but is part of the Oasis Global family. You can find out more about Oasis on the 'About Oasis' page on this website or go to the Oasis Community Learning website: http://www.oasiscommunitylearning.org

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
