Earlier this year a team of Year 9 and 10 students took part in an Enterprise and Language Competition organised by Solent EBP (Education and Business Partnership). The aim was to promote Enterprise and Language learning to young people through a real life business context outside the classroom, on individual tasks and as a team.
All entrants were asked to represent an International Marketing, PR & Events Organisation. They had to pitch their ideas to P&O Cruises for a new Kids Zone on the Cruise Ship ‘Ventura’, with the main purpose to encourage children from different nationalities (mainly French, Spanish, German and English) to socialise with each other.
Utilising the Academy specialism of Global Communication, Oasis Academy Mayfield students showed a very positive and competitive spirit, with the Year 10 students winning the French component out of 20 schools from the South East region who took part.
